About This Event
Generosity as a Mental Health Principle
The timing is impeccable. We could have also called this dinner an 'Ode to Mother Nature... We have all, no doubt, experienced acts of kindness either towards us or around us, as the proverbial dust settles, what better way to reflect than a signature cocktail in the warm, cozy history filled environs of one of the oldest operating bars in Augusta?
Research shows that practicing generosity not only alleviates stress and anxiety but also provides deep emotional rewards. What brings a community together in times of difficulty is the art of giving which can lead to a greater sense of purpose and true happiness. Come listen to perhaps something new, taste something different and engage in heartfelt conversation.
Speaker: Chashawna Wesby is a multii-faceted speaker currently working as a couselor for the Richmond County School System. She has a degree in Psychology and Professional Counseling and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Theology. She is also a poet. She has studied child development to adult mental health, but the ability to take our world and frame it into words that offer feeling and meaning is truly a talent to be heard!
Chef: We have the pleasure of collaborating with Jenn Kraus of Uprooted! She is known for her bold and inventive culinary style, and will present a delightful array of dishes designed to highlight the joy of giving, bringing the theme of generosity to life through each plate. The format will be a 6 course tasting menu with 6 wine tastings.
In light of Hurricane Helene, we have decided to donate the proceeds from this dinner to ALG to help local farmers that are in need. We are not just eating together, we are a powerful catalyst for forging stronger bonds and enriching social experiences.
We are also thrilled to partner with artist Rhian Swain alongside Scott Family Farm who will be showcasing unique favors to add a special touch to your experience.
