Dinner on the Summer Solstice: A Different Story of 'American Cooking'
Join us on the Summer Solstice for a unique farm-to-table dinner experience that reflects on the connections between food, culture, and community. Our evening will delve into the Indigenous perspective on the loss of traditional food pathways and how the transition of communities has shaped culinary practices over time.
Our Guest Chef and Speaker, Dave "Smoke" McCluskey, through the lens of historical context will explore how forced relocation, colonization, and suppression of cultural practices have affected food choices, health, and cultural identity.
As we gather around the table on the longest day of the year, this meal serves as a reminder of the strength of Indigenous communities and the power of returning to cultural food traditions to restore health, reconnect with the land, and honor ancestral knowledge.
Â
This will be a 4 course menu paired with 2 wines and 2 beers that complements the evening’s menu!  We are also thrilled to partner with local producers and artists to showcase what the region has to offer.
