Summer Solstice All-Night Gong Puja – A Sacred Sound Ceremony in the Smallest Cathedral in Britain

This Summer Solstice, we invite you to spend the shortest night of the year in a truly magical way…

Wrapped in blankets, resting on your mattress, surrounded by the ancient stones of Britain’s smallest cathedral — St Asaph in North Wales — you’ll be gently bathed in the healing vibrations of the gongs all through the night.

Gong Puja is a deep, meditative sound journey that lasts 7.5 hours. It’s a ceremony of letting go, resetting the nervous system, and inviting inner stillness. You’ll drift in and out of sleep as the vibrations guide you into a dreamlike space, where time softens and transformation begins.

Why this night?

The Summer Solstice is a powerful moment — the tipping point of the light. A time to honour growth, inner fire, and renewal. What better way to mark this turning of the wheel than through deep rest in a sacred space?

And the space itself is something truly special…

St Asaph Cathedral, with origins in the 6th century and the current building dating to the 13th century, is the smallest ancient cathedral in Britain. Its intimacy, acoustics, and history create an unforgettable atmosphere for this one-of-a-kind ceremony.

• All-night Gong Puja ceremony (approx. 10pm–6am)

• Resting/sleeping space inside the cathedral
