London Youth Opera is the longest running youth opera company in the UK, we have been going since 1971, an opera company for young performers aged 9 to 18. Uniquely LYO is also the only company exclusively performing opera's composed especially for its young cast, we commission a new work every year and only have kids and teens on stage, supported by a live orchestra and a brilliant creative team of industry professionals. We welcome London based children of all musical abilities and backgrounds who are passionate and willing to explore the possibilities that music and theatre can offer. Our yearly production is announced in the spring and goes into rehearsals in September, culminating in a run of four public performances in mid December.
