About This Event
Colour Me Happy: Poetry, Creativity & Connection
Seen. Heard. Created.
A creative wellbeing workshop hosted by three amazing women where words become art.
Creativity has a powerful connection to emotional wellbeing. It helps us slow down, express ourselves, reduce stress, and connect with both ourselves and others.
Colour Me Happy is a welcoming, hands-on workshop designed to do exactly that curated and hosted by Sarah Brason, Sarah Basra an Monica Blackwood.
Over the course of two inspiring hours, you'll be guided through a creative journey that begins with words and ends with art. Together, we'll explore simple poetry and creative writing exercises before transforming your words into a unique visual poem using watercolour, decoupage and tapestry techniques.
- You don't need to be a writer.
- You don't need to be an artist.
- You simply need to be curious.
By the end of the session, you'll leave with more than a poem. You'll leave with a beautiful piece of personal artwork that tells your story in a way that feels meaningful, expressive and uniquely yours.

Why Creativity Matters
Creativity is one of the most powerful and underused tools for wellbeing.
Not because it helps us create perfect art, but because it helps us express ourselves, process emotions, build confidence, and connect with others.
At Colour Me Happy, creativity becomes more than making something beautiful.
It becomes a way to feel seen.
To feel heard.
To connect.
To heal.
To grow.
Come and discover what creativity can do for you.
Meet the hosts!
Sarah Brason
Company founder, artist, speaker, grief navigator and brand strategist.
Sarah believes creativity has the power to transform lives. Through her work in branding, wellbeing, grief support and creative facilitation, she helps people reconnect with themselves, find their voice and express what words alone often cannot. Her workshops focus on process over perfection, creating safe spaces where creativity becomes a tool for reflection, healing and personal growth.
Monica Blackwood
Managing Director, The Free and The For CIC
Monica is a community builder, connector and creative visionary with a passion for empowering people to discover their strengths and potential. With experience across employability, education and social enterprise, she brings people and organisations together to create meaningful change. Her work is rooted in collaboration, sustainability and helping individuals flourish through connection and opportunity.
Sara Basra
Founder of Unique Individuals, poet, storyteller and neurodiversity advocate
Sara uses poetry, spoken word and storytelling to help people explore identity, emotion and self-expression. Through her work supporting neurodivergent individuals and communities, she champions creativity as a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and others. Sara believes words have the ability to heal, connect and help people feel truly seen and heard.
Stronger Together
Colour Me Happy is built on a shared belief that creativity is far more than art.
It is connection.
It is community.
It is healing.
It is transformation.
Together, Sarah, Monica and Sara bring three complementary perspectives: creative wellbeing, community empowerment, and storytelling through poetry.
Individually, we each create spaces where people can grow. Together, we create opportunities for people to connect with themselves, with others, and with their own creativity in new and meaningful ways.
In a world where many people feel isolated, overwhelmed or unheard, collaboration matters. Community matters.
When people gather to create, something remarkable happens. Conversations begin. Confidence grows. Stories are shared. Connections are formed.
That's why we believe together is stronger.
Because creativity isn't just about what we make.
It's about what we build together.
