About This Event
This final SummerSapphic of the first series is our PARTY EDITION with DJ Bec Bartlett (aka Social Disco) on the decks after the live music finishes.
Â
3pm Doors Open
Â
4pm: Baby Blue (Solo)Â - Rhea Caldwell performs with an ease few can claim to possess. Having cut their teeth as the lead guitarist of Michael Beach and as bassist for Gena Rose Bruce, Rhea's songwriting taps into 60s surf rock with a sprinkling of Americana and a healthy serve of indie pop. A songwriters songwriter, Rhea is one to catch playing songs written for their band Baby Blue, in rare solo mode.
Â
5.15pm: Annie-Rose Maloney plays country-ish songs and usually sits on a stool. Sitting on Annie’s right, so that she can see what chords are being played, is Jess Ellwood on lead guitar. The pair have played for so many years together that they have a soulful and comfortable musical understanding like no other. Annie writes songs that speak about the kernels of pain that lie in the deepest places of our being, and Jess chugs along with sensitive guitar lines to bring it all together.
Â
6.30-10pm: DJ Bec Bartlett’s Social Disco sets are guaranteed for a boogie and designed to feel like a house party. Whilst disco is the thread that keeps everything together, Bec hops between pop, hip-hop, house, and guilty pleasures. She prides herself on her vinyl collection and is ultimately satisfied if she can spin a wildcard that will have her audience laughing on the dancefloor.
