Relief Printmaking with Jacqueline Gribbin
Starts on Sat, Jul 17, 2021 11:30 PM (UTC)
About This Event
Join master printer and artist Jacqueline Gribbin for a half-day introductory printmaking class. Jacqueline trained as a printer in Japan where she lived for 11 years and has delivered classes and
workshops both nationally and internationally. In 2020, she was invited to have her work projected onto the Australian Parliament House as part of the Canberra Enlighten Festival.
This is a relief printmaking class for beginners and no experience is necessary. Jacqueline will guide you through the process of creating and carving your own relief block by showing you the different carving tools and ways to create various marks. She will demonstrate how to mix inks, create blends of colour and print your block onto postcard-sized and bookmark-sized paper. At the end of the class, you will have your own set of hand-printed postcards and professional-looking bookmarks to give to friends and family!
You can bring your own photo or sketch, or just be inspired on the
day by the wonderful nature at Tumbling Waters to create your own unique image.
All materials are supplied: one relief carving block (double-sided), paper, ink and tassels.
Beware - you may get inky, so wear something you don’t mind getting ink on!
