About This Event

Pumpsim DESIGN Training is a practical way to learn how to use the software efficiently to design, improve and validate pumping systems across a wide range of industrial applications, including dewatering, paste fill and more.

Delivered by one of our expert engineers, the course draws on many years of Ventsim and Pumpsim software, training and consulting experience.

Participants will learn fundamental pumping and pipeline design principles, model and simulate a variety of systems and scenarios, and explore strategies to optimise existing systems for significant cost savings.

Day 1: Understanding Pipe Network Modelling

• Pumpsim basics: 3D simulation, navigation, display control, pipeline creation
• Building a model: Import/simplify system design; create pipes, tanks, valves, fittings, demand devices
• Text messages/data boxes: Simple and advanced text displays
• Dynamic simulation: Scenarios, scripts, monitors, warnings
• Pipe size optimisation: Use pump, pipe and power cost inputs
• Stages: Apply/manage staged model changes
• Pumps, compressors & turbines: Curves, layouts, efficiency settings
• Practical exercise: Hands-on modelling

Day 2: Practical Applications & Advanced Tools

• Importing topography: Data import, offsets, repositioning
• Aquifers: Pressure and volume tables
• Compressed air model: Compressors, demand devices, unit settings
• Gas drainage model: Pipe sizing, fittings, compressors, gas mixtures
• Paste fill model: Fluid setting, 3D containers, slurry/viscosity tools
• Surface dewatering: Sumps, inflows, pumps, pipelines, dynamic water levels
• Underground dewatering: Network setup and changing water levels
• Question time: Q&A and discussion
