About This Event

We celebrate Asian comedy every month! Comediasians host a night of improv and stand-up, as well as an audience improv jam.

This month's Comediasians & Friends night features...

Improv by Comediasians!

We're the UK's premier pan-Asian improv group, and we're on a mission to bring laughs from the diasporASIA to the UK comedy scene! We do a playful mix of short and long form improv and host a monthly night of Asian comedy in London.

Improv Jam featuring you!

We're running an improv jam for part of the night where anyone in the audience can come up on stage with the Comediasians! We welcome anyone and everyone to the jam and especially encourage Asian-identifying people to give it a go.

Stand Up by Kuan-Wen Huang!

Leicester Comedy Festival 2023 Best Show nominee Kuan-wen Huang is a Taiwanese comedian based in London, UK. He has appeared on multiple series of Comedy Central Live and on Channel 4's "Jokes Only An Immigrant Can Tell" digital series. As one of the most recognisable faces amongst performers of East Asian heritages in the UK, Kuan-wen has written for and acted in East Mode with Nigel Ng by Comedy Central.

For his debut solo show "Ilha Formosa", Kuan-wen has been included in The Guardian newspaper's Top 10 Jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe. He was also selected by BBC Radio 4 to feature in its "Fresh From The Fringe" 2023 line up.

Kuan-wn is a finalist in the inaugural UK Channel 4 Sean Lock Comedy Award. Outside comedy, he is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor.

Stand Up by Pravanya Pillay!

Pravanya Pillay is a stand up comedian, writer and producer. Described by Funny Women as "hilarious", Pravanya delivers surreal, observational comedy from a unique perspective.

As a writer she has written for BBC Radio Wales on the sticom 'Beena & Amrit' and the sketch show 'Welcome Strangers'.

She is the co-host and producer of Party - a trans/non-binary/female comedy night described by LMAOnaise as "the country's finest night" and featured in The Guardian.

This summer Pravanya came joint-third in the presitgious 'So You Think You're Funny' competition.
