North East Indoor Rowing Championship 2025

About This Event

North East Indoors are back! Durham University Boat Club is proud to host the North East Indoor Erg Championships for 2025, part of the BUCS Indoor Series.

Whether you fancy a fun day out with a bit of exercise, or to compete against the region's best, indoors is a spectacular event for a good cause. As with last year, 50% of all ticket sales will be going towards Sport in Action Zambia - an NGO that works with children in Zambia to help provide life opportunities in extreme circumstances.

BUCS Events offered: note sign up for these events must be done via BUCS play before Tuesday 11th November 2025.

Heavyweight Open & Women's 2km; Lightweight Open & Women's 2km; Adaptive Open & Women's 1km; Beginner Open & Women's 1km; NEW Open & Women's 250m sprint 

As well as BUCS points up for grabs, new for this year the top 3 medallists of the North East series will be awarded free entry into British indoor rowing championships (BRIC) for the opportunity to compete against the best in the country! 

Non-BUCS events: enter via this website!

Senior Open & Women's 2km; Masters Open & Women's (27 years+) 2km; Junior Open & Women's 2km and 1km; Open & Women's 250m sprint; NEW Novice 1k

Relay events: teams of 4 required

Open & Womens 2km Relay (Teams of 4)

College novices are also encouraged to enter the NEW novice 1k race, specifcally designed for athletes who're learning to row this year!

Prizes

New this year - College and club Victor Ludorum! The best performing club and Durham college will be awarded Victor Ludorum awards at the end of the day, which comes with a £50 donation.  

As with last year, all event winners will be awarded a (highly prestigious) medal/pot along with a case of beers (tub of sweets for the junior event) to the winning team in each of the relay competitions!

Facilities available: Warm up ergos, changing facilities, free parking, onsite cafe. We look forward to seeing you there! A timetable of events will be published closer to the time, however the BUCS and Senior events are likely to run first, followed by the Junior events, followed by the sprints and relays.
