About This Event
Music With Motion: Down Under is a dynamic celebration of Australia's video game soundtracks—performed live by a full wind orchestra and synchronised in real time with stunning visuals on the big screen. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that supports the local game development industry.
Premiering all-new orchestrations created especially for this event by award-winning Artistic Director Dr Nathan Cummins, the performance showcases music from games developed across the country, including several from right here in South Australia. Many of these games have never had their music performed live, and you'll be among the very first to hear it.
🎮 Featuring homegrown titles created right here in SA such as the quirky chaos of Super BAWK BAWK Chicken (Daytime Devs, Christopher Norton), the cosy-yet-adventurous flair of Dungeons and Dining Tables (Catalyst Games, Nathan Cummins), the unforgettably haunting beauty of Hollow Knight (Team Cherry, Christopher Larkin), as well as other Australian-developed games including the atmospheric storytelling of Submerged: Hidden Depths (Uppercut Games, Jeff van Dyck) and Demonlore (Barrel Smash Studios, Hew Wagner).
🕹️ Join us before the show and during intermission for a mini convention-style showcase, where local game studios including many of those featured in the performance will be on hand to share their projects, creative processes, and maybe even a few souvenirs. You might snap a selfie with your favourite developers or discover your next indie favourite.
Whether you’re a die-hard gamer, a lover of live music, or just looking for something exciting and family-friendly, Music With Motion: Down Under promises an unforgettable night of music, entertainment, and local talent.
Proudly supported by Consortium Music, the South Australian Games Association (SAGA), and Catalyst Games.
Music played for the community, by the community.
