Facilitator
Melannie Levine is a grants and philanthropy professional with more than 13 years of experience in grantwriting, grantmaking, and program management. She has written and secured successful proposals from private foundations and community funders, while also managing multimillion-dollar grant portfolios for federal and international programs.
Her career includes fundraising and and leading MEL programming with Pencils of Promise to advance global education access. Additionally, she spearheaded grant development and grantmaking initiatives at Jewish World Watch, where she supported human rights and advocacy projects. She also managed international education programs at LIU Global, where she created budgeting systems later adopted across campuses as well as managed global programs. When serving as a USAID contractor, she streamlined grantmaking operations and improved efficiency for partners worldwide.
Melannie has lived in the Kansas City metro for almost a decade now where she continues to strengthen community development organizations and programs. She is known for making the grantwriting process accessible, practical, and mission-aligned—helping organizations move from ideas to competitive proposals.
She holds a Master's in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and an active Secret Security Clearance. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys gardening with her family, volunteering locally, and exploring new cultures and languages.
