In-Person Training - South Derbyshire
Harmless – the centre of excellence for self harm and suicide prevention – has been commissioned to deliver this free course by Derbyshire County Council for staff and volunteers from statutory, community and voluntary sector organisations working with Derbyshire County residents (excluding Derby City). Poor mental health affects individuals, families, friends and workplaces. Whether you’re a manager supporting staff or a frontline worker responding to someone in need, our training gives you practical tools and clear insights to act effectively. This course will build awareness and understanding of mental health, address stigma, provide details of resources and services, equipping staff and volunteers with confidence and skills.

Eligibility Criteria
This training is fully-funded and free for staff and volunteers from statutory, community and voluntary sector organisations working with Derbyshire County residents (excluding Derby City). To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:Â

A core part of your role involves working with Derbyshire County residents AND you work for a statutory or voluntary or community sector organisation (in either a paid role or volunteer role)
OR

You are a commercial organisation that has been offered training as part of Derbyshire County Council’s mental health and suicide prevention outreach project.
OR
-
You are based in Derbyshire county and work for a commercial organisation also based in Derbyshire county.

Self-Care
The topics covered in this training can be emotionally challenging. Delegates are encouraged to be mindful of the personal impact that this training may have and to seek reassurance, support or guidance from the Trainer if they feel distressed or affected. We also encourage delegates to practise self-care throughout the course – taking breaks as needed and managing personal disclosure. All Trainers have direct access to a clinical team for additional support if required.
