Experience the Sydney soul-gospel powerhouse Majesty Rising!

It’s Sunday-morning soul with Saturday-night spark - beautiful melodies, big ensemble energy, and rhythms you feel right through you. If you love powerful horns, layered harmonies, and feel-good soul that builds and lifts, this is your kind of night.

Majesty Rising really came together the way the best bands do — organically. Back in 2025, Eliza Kate and Luke Sweeting started writing together, and before long it grew into something much bigger than just the two of them. Their big-hearted lyrics explore themes that flow from their shared faith. Themes of hope, trust, and real connection.

Eliza’s got one of those voices that just stops you in your tracks, sharpened by years performing in LA, New York and Vegas. Luke, on the other hand, is a jazz pianist through and through — equally comfortable ripping through a bebop solo or putting together these rich, layered arrangements.

What lifts it all is the band around them — a tight crew of great players, big brass, lush backing vocals — the works. The sound sits somewhere between Sunday-morning soul and a bit of Saturday-night spark. Big, warm, and full of groove.

HOW TO GET THERE: Scots Church Sydney is a 3 minute walk from Wynyard Station and 5 minute walk from Wynyard light rail. We highly recommoned taking public transport as street parking is difficult. If you do need to park your best option is to book a Wilson carpark nearby.
