About This Event

An 8-week beginner’s acrylic painting course designed to build a strong artistic foundation while gently nurturing your creativity in a supportive, uplifting environment.

You'll also enjoy stunning wrap around harbour views for extra inspiration!

We'll start with the absolute basics and by the end of the course you'll have completed your own original landscape painting of your choice. We start with natural landscapes as they are generally quite forgiving for beginners.

This course is your gateway to something much bigger. I offer weekly casual classes, advanced workshops and exhibitions exclusively for alumni. You'll become part of a welcoming and engaged community of local budding artists! 💛

No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and an open heart.

Weeks 1–2: Drawing with Graphite

Learn to create pleasing, balanced compositions
Understand how to bring a sense of depth and perspective into your work through lines, shapes, tone and form

Weeks 3–8: Acrylic Painting

Learn to mix any colour you choose with confidence
Discover how warm and cool colours bring your work to life
Understand how to use layers to simplify the painting process and get amazing results
Explore different brush techniques to create different effects
Complete your own unique painting on stretched canvas, ready to hang on your wall

This course is more than just learning techniques, it’s about making space for you. You’ll build confidence, reconnect with your creative rhythm, and meet others on a similar journey of artistic rediscovery.

Oct: 26th
Nov: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
Dec: 7th & 14th

Sessions 1–4: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (2 hrs)

Sessions 5–8: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (3 hrs)

About Me

Hi, I’m Nicola. I hold a degree in Visual Arts (specialising in acrylic painting) and have nearly a decade of experience in education. I absolutely love helping people uncover their creative potential and I find so much joy in watching students grow in confidence and expression! I'll be cheering you on the whole way!

Cancellations

Full refunds (minus booking fee) up to 7 days before the course starts
After that, you can still transfer your spot to another person but not to another course as they usually book full
