About This Event
Make a day of it:
This FREE seminar in the morning and stay for the Bermuda 1-2 GAM at 1500...(see below)
This is a seminar, on issues surrounding short handed sailing. I. E. sailing with crew numbers fewer than a comprable size boat with a Full Crew. Most commonly assumed to mean 1-3 souls on a 40 footer. In other words how most people sail.
Short handed is not a number, it is a mind set.
Topics include The mindset of short handed sailing incorporating:
Changes in safety thinking between short handed and fully crewed.
Sail inventory, and handling, planning & preparation, boat set up, rigging, navigation, husbandary,Â
This is by its very nature a long and complex topic. This seminar intends to cover the key elements in preparing your self, your crew and your boat for short handed sailing. There is plenty of time for Q&A built in.
We are planning on hosting future seminars in more detail on specific issues.
Arrive at 0930 for coffee and meet and greet. Sessions run 1000 to 1430 with comofort breaks and Q&A
AND stay for the Annual Bermuda 1-2 GAM scheduled to start at 1500. This too is free, has a cash bar and good finger food. There are few places where you can be in the same room as so many short handed passages too and from Bermuda.
Cooper (left) and Haydon (right) have between them, thousands of miles of single, double and otherwise short handed bluewater miles.
