Meet Our Speaker
Professor Aruna Seneviratne
Professor Aruna Seneviratne is the Foundation Professor and Mahanakorn Chair of Telecommunications at UNSW Sydney and the Deputy Head of the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. A former Director at NICTA and Research Director at CSIRO’s Data61, he is a global leader in AI-enabled cyber-physical systems and digital infrastructure. His industry experience spans Telstra and Avaya Labs, and his research focuses on AI-driven physical analytics, intelligent IoT systems, and secure real-time interaction technologies.
With over 200 research publications and more than 40 PhD students supervised, Professor Seneviratne brings deep academic and practical expertise. He is also the founder of the UNSW spin-out company SafetyTech Accelerator, translating cutting-edge research into real-world impact.
