About This Event
“Business Continuity”
Using a risk based approach to Business Continuity Planning has gained more importance than ever due to the impacts and effects of extreme events - such as weather events happening all around us. Risk based planning helps us remain better positioned to recover from business interruption, property damage, financial impact, plus the injuries and loss of life associated with a disaster or crisis.

Key "learning outcomes" of the workshop include
- understanding risk as a function of hazard and vulnerability;
- assessing the vulnerability of resources which support critical activities, before disaster impact;
- assessing the impact on operability during and after disasters;
- structuring risk-based plans to be succinct and well communicated;
- selecting software aligned with best practice standards.
Our risk-based workshop will support you to develop a comprehensive, integrated plan which addresses your context, your priorities, and your vulnerabilities.
The session will be facilitated by John Salter, an expert recognized since 1997 for “preventing disasters, or where that is not possible, reducing the potential for harm”. (Reference: Barrister Hugh Selby in The Inquest Handbook)
