About This Event
🤣 Improv by Comediasians!
We are the UK's premier pan-Asian improv group, and we're on a mission to bring laughs from the diasporASIA to the UK comedy scene. We do a playful mix of short and long form improv and host a monthly night of Asian comedy in London.
Big News: Comediasians improv workshops are back but we are extending this to the wider POC community and our allies.
Comediasians have teamed up with Theatre Deli to bring some positivity into the world. We've been a bit shaken by the recent surge in rallies and riots proliferating tensions in our communities. In response, we will be hosting a series of 3 improv workshops aimed at building community through joy. It will be an opportunity to celebrate and embrace cultural diversity. These workshops are open to all of the POC community and our allies - whether you are an experienced improviser, a beginner or have never done improv before. All we ask is for you to bring an open mind and help us in building this positive community where we enjoy the wonders of each others' cultures. Come along for a culture-appreciating workshop, where we play fun games to connect and explore, and be guided through the wonderful wonders of our world, right here in London.

Workshop Coaches
Tulasi Das
Tulasi Das is a documentary filmmaker. Having started her improv career in 2017 with the Bristol Improv Theatre, she has continued that journey in London and beyond. Tulasi can often be seen performing with Comediasians or hip hop improv group Track 96, and has taught workshops, courses, and coached improv teams across the UK. Enjoys her life but feels it is lacking a proper nemesis, who will push her to greater improv heights. Applications welcome.
Kelsey Yuhara
Kelsey began improvising in 2013 after being “scouted” at a sketch comedy night in Istanbul only three months after renouncing performance forever. Her breakup with the stage was short. Almost instantly regretting her decision, she vowed never to abandon her first true love ever again. Shortly thereafter, she went on to found The Clap (Istanbul’s English language improv team). After moving to London in 2019, she quickly found a new improv home with Comediasians. She has also performed with various teams, including Acaprov and CSI (Crime Scene Impro). She has coached improv for Comediasians, Acaprov, Impromiscuous as well as taught her own course, Meisner Into Improv, for many international students and drama students at UCA Farnham. She brings her theatre background and practice into her improv facilitation, cherry picking favourite exercises to share with improvisers of all different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Jon Nguyen
Jon is a British / Vietnamese improviser who trained with Dogface Improv in Norwich, UK. He is a proud member of The Comediasians, Michelle, The Maydays and many more beside. Jon has been lauded as a community builder in the Improv world. He has been part of Improv discussions about how we make the Improv space more diverse and inclusive and welcoming to those who may find it daunting to enter. He has attended, taught and performed at festivals in Europe and online globally. Jon works in the world of theatrical and grounded relationship scenes and has fun in turning that on its head to see how it will play out. Jon’s first performing love is in story telling and finds it so very satisfying integrating the stories of ourselves and our own cultures onto the stage to share that oral history with audiences wherever they are.
