About This Event
Discover the colourful world of botanical inks and natural dyes in this hands-on workshop, where wild plants and everyday food waste become beautiful, unexpected sources of colour.
You’ll explore the fascinating history and science behind natural colour-making, while learning a range of practical extraction techniques to create your own inks and dyes. Experiment with thickeners and modifiers to transform shades, intensify colours, and discover the unique qualities of each natural pigment.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll create your own annotated colour palettes to use for painting, drawing, and dyeing fabric. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with your colours and use them to create you own artwork.
We’ll also look at how to preserve, store, and care for your botanical colours, helping you get the most out of them and extend their longevity.
The session is very relaxed and no previous experience is required, only curiosity and openness to play, experiment and connect with natural materials and like minded people.
All materials will be provided.
The full price of the course is £40, but you can get an Early Bird discount 5% if you book by October the 10th.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
