About This Event
Bob and Mal Sedergreen are well known jazz and blues identities in Melbourne’s live music scene. Both have performed locally and internationally at concerts and major jazz festivals. Ivan Rosa is an experienced, driving and empathetic bassist whose association with Bob, spans decades, involving many live gigs, residencies and recordings. Mark Voogd is a driving drummer due to his ability to handle most musical situations but especially his affinity of propulsive jazz time a la Jimmy Cobb.
Bob’s special guest, Rohan Wallis, is perhaps one of Melbourne’s most eclectic musicians. A handy trumpeter/flugelhornist, a swinging and relaxed vocal delivery and in demand DJ. His influences include as well as jazz, electronic music and progressive and post-modern music. Rohan always connects with his audience.Â
As an added attraction joining the band will be vocalist Chantal Mitvalsky, an ember of the popular Melbourne group Cannonball. Bob knows that Chantal will be able to compliment the band with her vibe presence and powerful delivery .
Whatever these musicians choose to play at The Botanical Gardens will reflect their years of dedication to the playing and teaching of music.
