2025 SOPA CHALLENGE #1 - CONCENTRATION CHALLENGE

DATE: SATURDAY 22nd. February 2025

VENUE: Sydney Olympic Park Archers

Bennelong Parkway, Sydney Olympic Park 2127, NSW

TIME: 7.00am registration & Bow inspection/ 8.00am Start of Practice

1.      Archers shoot a normal  WA 720 round.   A 6-arrow end will be timed at 4 minutes 240 seconds). 

2.     All compound archers will shoot an 80cm target face, while all recurve and barebow archers will shoot a 122cm face per WA ruling for age groups.

3.     After the first set of 72 arrows, archers will be divided equally into separate divisions (dependent on the number of entries) based on scores (regardless of gender, age and bow type).  If there is a tie in the placement for a division, either a shoot-off or a coin toss will be called by the judge to determine the archer's division. 

4.     Once archers are sorted into divisions, they will compete against archers of the same capability in their division in the next 72 arrows.  This 2^nd set of 72 arrows, archers in each division of Barebow and Recurve, archers will have to shoot a GOLD-only face at 20m and compound archers will have to shoot a GOLD-only face at 30m. Only the perfect scores of 10 and Xs will be counted.

The highest scores in their division shall determine the winners of each division. If there are ties, the winner will be determined by the highest number of Xs. If there is still a tie then judges will have to call for a tiebreaker shoot. 

Medals will be awarded to the winner of each division in 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd positions

This is a AA registered event, Australian and State records are claimable

7.00 am - Registration & Bow inspection

8.00 am - Practise Starts

 There will be 3 Practice Ends then straight into Scoring Ends.

There will be a short break after the first 36 and 72 arrows.

After the completion of the double WA 720 round, there will be another short break

Entry Conditions

1. Online entries only
2. All archers NEED TO BE at the venue at least 30 minutes before start times.
3. Archers briefing will be held before the start of practice.

Dress Regulations:

The Organising Committee will be enforcing Archery Australia Rules (7.10) in respect of athlete's dress.

Results:

Scoring will be both paper and live using Archers Diary.
