About This Event
Last seen at Sydney’s Vivid Festival in 2019, the open-air exhibition Robot Spaceland heads to Melbourne’s Chapel Street Precinct this summer. Robot Spaceland imagines a not-too-distant future where a new, robot-led civilisation rises from post-industrial debris. The robots are made from upcycled materials and industrial waste, have flashing lights and emit sounds. According to Tim Bestman, creative director of XYZ Dimensions: “It sends a powerful message to the audience about the importance of recycling, and the message comes out even stronger when the light spectacle begins at night.” You can witness these 17-metre-tall interactive robots as they hang out across four locations – Grattan Gardens, Prahran Square, the Chapel Off Chapel forecourt and the worksite at 402 Chapel Street.
